Nearly every 12-step rehab in the world still offers a group-meeting approach to therapy. A 12-step-based rehab gives you almost zero one-on-one attention and lots and lots of group meetings. They tell you over the phone before you check in that they offer one-on-one treatment, but their idea of one-on-one treatment is one individual session a week while continually preaching the concept that alcoholism and addiction are diseases. That is an unhealthy and untrue concept that labels you as an incurable alcoholic or addict and condemns you to a fight to stay sober, one day at a time, for the rest of your life. We have found, through direct experience, that that treatment model is not effective and is very out of date. You deserve better.
