The Family Lifeline Since 1953
The Effort is leading the vanguard in the regional response to the methamphetamine crisis. For over ten years now, we have served many thousands of people with methamphetamine addiction, making us the region's treatment brain trust. Our services are provided across different levels of care (detox, residential, outpatient, medical clinic) and we provide full service treatment, including medical support through our primary care clinic and co-occurring disorders treatment for those clients with co-existing mental health issues.
The Effort has provided medical care in downtown Sacramento for over 35 years and, as Family Service Agency, has served the Sacramento region as a critical lifeline for families in crisis for over 50 years. Both agencies found that by merging in October 2005, we were better able to provide a more complete continuum of care for clients. Our programs have shown measurable success in serving thousands of families in need throughout Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado Counties.
The Effort Community Health Center provides primary medical care to over 5000 patients each year, serving the uninsured and underinsured of the Sacramento area. With support from local hospitals, The Effort is experiencing tremendous growth in its medical services and is expanding the clinic to provide more comprehensive services and extended hours.
No other organization in the Sacramento area is quite like The Effort. Whether it's child abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, addictions, health problems, or mental health issues, The Effort works to break the cycles that prevent children, their parents, and other individuals from leading healthy lives. The Effort also collaborates with many other nonprofit organizations with similar missions, values, and objectives.
